So today was very interesting, we started out the day traveling to a nearby hotel to a have a sit down with a delegation concerning the nomination of Dr. Paul, it went better than expected. I can’t go into any more detail than that at this point. It still looks tough though.

The convention opened to little fan fare in my opinion I was sitting up in the Alternates section and watched as all of their preplanned motions were pushed through without any opportunity for opposition. They recessed for an hour so that the committees could meet. 

I went and had one of the most expensive sandwiches of my life, and then came back into the convention hall. When we resumed they called the committee chairman up and they each made their resolutions to accept their findings. From Credentials – They determined that The credential challenge against the Washington State Delegation was not accepted because of lack of merit. From the Platform – the Chairman came out and gave this long speech about how Republicans came together to form this great platform that is an American Platform, and then the Convention Chairman Mike Duncan gave his long winded opinion of the platform. Unfortunately we were not given copies of the Platform before the vote so basically the Delegates were voting for something they had not seen. They brought it up to a vote and before any opposition could respond the gavel came down.

Then Laura Bush came out and gave a speech talking about the Gulf Coast, and introduced videos from the Governors of the Gulf States. Laura came back out with Cindy McCain. I got into a bit of a back and forthe with one of the other Alternates sitting next to me, because I refused to Stand and applaud Cindy McCain.

After the Convention was adjourned we went to speak to some of the reporters, and I spoke to a French reporter, Steven Hardy spoke with a Belgium Reporter, and John Christina spoke with a Japanese reporter, and we all three were interviewed by Arianna Huffington.

We also saw Chuck Todd, Andrea Mitchell, Bill O’reilly, and some others (dont care for ‘em but interesting)

We are at the Hotel now, preparing to go to the Ron Paul event this evening so I will report back on that later.
